Google’s Android
I’m pretty Tech savvy so I often get asked by friends and family about the latest trend. Recently it’s been all about Google’s Android. What’s interesting is that some people ask as if it’s a singular item to be purchased like an iPhone. When in fact Google Android is an operating system that should be compared to the iPhone’s iOS. Android, which is open source, is the operating system of choice for many mobile phone manufacturers whereas iOS is only “allowed” on the iPhone which is only manufactured by Apple. There’s a Droid phone by Motorola likely the biggest reason for confusion and the greatest name for a phone with Android.
Android phones like iPhones are all about the apps (applications). As of December 2010 the iPhone app store had 280,000 apps and the Androids app count was 200,000. Android apps will take the lead if they haven’t already. Apple has been criticized through the years for being restrictive on apps they allow in their store. Android on the other hand does not restrict feature rich apps that push the limits of the underlying operating system.
Even with all I have invested in my iPhone(s) and apps I’m feeling the pull over to Android. It’s only a matter of time.

St. Patrick’s Day 11 Years Ago @ Whitlow’s on Wilson
This starts like a joke. A good looking girl came up to me while I was drinking a green beer in a clear glass and said “is that green beer you’re drinking?”
11 years later we’ve been married for almost 10 years.
The place we met was a cool bar in Arlington that is still fun to grab a beer and a burger – Whitlow’s on Wilson
Happy St Patrick’s Day and cheers to Whitlow’s
